Managing for Happyness

The research is clear: happy workers are more productive workers. Managing for Happiness is about concrete management advice for all workers. Practical things that people can do next Monday morning in order to make the organization a happier place to work, with people who run experiments and drive innovation. In this session, you will see how to manage the system, not the people. This is not only relevant for managers, but for everyone who is concerned about the organization.

From pair programming to mob programming to mob architecting

Key subject:
Quality of Things: Complexity and Challenges of Software Engineering in Emerging Technologies

High quality of software and systems are success-critical issues in engineering projects that can have a major impact on product, process, and service quality. Quality attributes have to be embodied within individual phases of software and systems development.
Well-established approaches, methods, and tools support the construction and maintenance of high-quality products, process, and services.
Changed product, process, and service requirements, e.g., distributed engineering projects, mobile applications, involvement of heterogeneous disciplines and stakeholders, frequent changing requirements, extended application areas, and new technologies include new challenges and might require new and adapted methods and tools to support quality assurance activities early.

Following the guiding topic we welcome contributions related to software and systems quality that address current and future development approaches and focus on future trends of systems and software engineering to improve quality and efficiency early in development and engineering projects.

All contributions in knowledge domains, which influence or deal with software quality or have their focus on better software quality, are very welcomed, e.g.

  • Requirements engineering and management
  • Testing (methods, automation, tools)
  • Project management and controlling
  • Architecture and design
  • Product and release management
  • Change management
  • Software quality management
  • Process models and optimization
  • Lean and agile methods
  • Cost estimate
  • Standards and norm
  • Data quality
  • Cloud, BigData, SaaS
  • Quality of ERP-Projects and standard software
  • Version and configuration management
  • Software validation
  • Risk management
  • Coding (quality in the code)
  • Software management
  • Metrics and dashboards
  • Software usability
  • Software security
  • Delivery, operation and maintenance
  • Process and product certifications
  • Mobile
  • Social aspects
  • Benefit and profitability
  • Organization, roles and job descriptions

The conference is in general branch independent. But we would also be glad to take branch specific lectures into our program, e.g. Insights and implementation of software quality topics in medicine and pharmaceuticals, automotive, industrial automation, finance, embedded systems and many more.

5 tracks - practical, scientific and tool-oriented

In the 3 practical tracks there will be presentations of application-oriented expieriences and lectures - from users for users. The scientific track will be held in englisch. The lectures present a corresponding level of innovation and research results, and they relate to practical applications. The exhibitors present their latest services and tools by practical examples in the Solution Provider Forum.

The target group

Software process and quality managers, managers of software organizations, product managers, IT managers, heads of development, persons responsible for applications, project managers, release managers, persons responsible for roll-out and operations, persons responsible for support, test managers, testers, developers, architects, designers, persons responsible for usability, persons responsible for security, persons responsible for tenderings, persons with similar functions on side of the software-producer as well as on the user's side.
